I got Sirius Satelite Radio for Christmas, I wanted it professionaly installed. I stopped by my local Best Buy store today fully aware how an install process should go: Greet, Ask, Sell, Buy, Leave. I was told by the employee that I would need an FM Direct Relay, ok, get me one. He said they were out, ok order it, he said none were on tonights truck, ok order it, he said none have been ordered and cant be ordered??? Then he said the COMPUTER showed a store 30 miles away had one, ok have it sent over, He said I could go there or just go somewhere else. WHAT??? Are you kidding me! Best Buy doesn't want my money, you gotta be kidding me 5 minutes ago I just had 3 other employees try and sell me a digital picture frame, a PS3, and a big screen tv as I made my way to the back of the store, so I know they want my money. Then the guy just walks off.
What? I can't even schedule an appointment for say 2 weeks from now, that should give them plenty of time to get a new "That thing I'm gonna need" as he put it. No, he just walks off. You would think in a year where Best Buy has been accused of near bait and switch practices, building a dummy website to hoax customers out of more money and selling broken merch. that they might try and focus on CUSTOMER SERVICE just a little bit more. Nope!!
So I walk over to a manager, told what just happened, he walks back grabs the employee asks why we can't install it. He calls the other store, they will have it sent over tomorrow. Sets me up an appointment. My question to him "Why did I have to come and get you to do this?" What has happened to Customer Service, one thing I know is that Local Neighborhood shops will always provide what BIG BUSINESS can't: good, reliable, and accurate customer service. So next time I'll seek out my local stereo shop when I need some work done. Thanks BB.
