So, in this months issue of BIKE Magazine there is an article about Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Park and it references the website I worked on at Rockfish for them. The site was built in Flash AS2 and has some really cool features. The magazine also shows a picture of one of the ramps that I tagged a while back. Congrats to Tom and Woody on this one, I'm looking forward to the Halloween Jam looks like it's going to be Awesome! The magazine also mentions the Progressive Trail Design Company who built Slaughter Pen (Their first gig and I must say, not too bad!) and I collaborated a bit on that site design so check it out too www.progressivetraildesign.com.

You know I catch a lot of grief sometimes running a blog up here in the Ozarks that finds humor in Rednecks, but come on I'm a city boy and these things are funny. For example I was looking thru the classifieds in what I think is probably the most read section of the paper up here the "Livestock" section and I saw this ad; And I thought, Only in Arkansas:

This past weekend I came across an interview someone did with the Artist Shepard Fairey. I have followed this guy for as far back as I can remember and he plays a huge roll in inspiring me in both his art and his work habbit. It was interesting to see how he has become not only a world renowned artist but also now has his own line of clothing, does gallery exhibits, and recently has started DJing and mixing cds. Even with all the publicity now, he mentioned he never forgets to go out and do what made him famous, "Bomb with stickers," even when he's with his family. Any designer who has worked in an agency environment knows what this video is representing: The Process.

With a line around the building on a Sunday night at 10 pm in Fayetteville this had better be good. We stood in line to see the much-hyped movie Dark Night and although I was very entertained I fell short of the cries for a sympathy Oscar for the Joker role. I think of my first Batman movie on the big screen with ol Johnny I'm mean Jack playing the Joker and I remember the ever so famouse line "Ever dance with the devil in a pale moonlight..." but, Heath on this one you just didn't complete me if I can quote you. Jack Nicholson put a polish on the Joker that any cries for a current Oscar would be that, just symphathy cries served with cheese and wine. The Jokers role in my opinion in this current remake was over shadowed by Christian Bale and the introduction of Twoface. Overall the movie's special effects and batman's awesome vehicles left more of an impression I mean now that I think about it not one line sticks out in my head as a steller performance that I'll run around the office quoting.

I know if your a designer like me you are always looking for new color inspiration so check this out. This is a cool post I found today that looks at why it's so important for us to save the environment. Look at the beauty of these fish and since it's on colorlovers site they provide color charts for each fish. This will be great on my next site design just pick a fish and the poallet comes with it.
