Dylan Rhymes in the 'Ville Saturday Night

June 22, 2008 21:45 by joey
One of the UK's best House/Indie/Breakbeats DJ was in town for a Saturday night session at George's Majestic part of the Summer Solstice. This rare US apperance brought my frind DJ Qousey in town from Austin to watch the event and boy was it awesome. Dylan Ryhmes threw down a fantastic set that pumped the crowed up and kept the dance floor packed. They had over 15 DJ's at this event including local artist Ben Scott whom I work with at Rockfish Interactive that kept the crowd pumped till shortly after 2am. With 3 stages there was surely something for everyones taste including House, Breakbeats and Industrial music out on the patio. If you haven't heard of these guys or the parties they are throwing at Georges you need to stay posted as I will update my blog when events happen and you definately need to go. Check out the pics from the party below:

Invisible Scratch Pickle Rocks the "Ville" Last Night

February 16, 2008 21:35 by joey.nelson

Much to my surprise DJ Mix Master Mike was in Fayetteville last night to do about a 2 hour crowd-pleasing Set. This DJ, whom most know as the DJ for The Beastie Boys, made a packed house at George's Magestic move to mixes of Old School jams with: Nirvana, Korn, Tool, Ludacris, Beastie Boys and even some new shit all thrown together and mixed at a level that Rocked the rhythm of the crowd and kept everyone's hands in the air all night. This set was awesome, a rather small setting for such a seasoned vet but it seemed MMMike used that to his advantage and had Fayetteville's finest moving their feet. Personally I'd never seen any DJ move at the speed this guy could move his hands so it was quite the show, even the silence of a blown fuse didn't stop him from finishing a set that truely was an exceptional performance.

A local DJ from this area put on a rather perfectious set himself before MMMike came on, known in the area as DJ Shortfuse, his mix lasted about and hour-and-a-half and included more of today's Pop and Rap genres, which got the girls out on the dance floor to shake "what th' momma gave 'em!".
