SlaughterPen.com in BIKE Magazine

August 24, 2008 20:08 by joey

So, in this months issue of BIKE Magazine there is an article about Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Park and it references the website I worked on at Rockfish for them. The site was built in Flash AS2 and has some really cool features. The magazine also shows a picture of one of the ramps that I tagged a while back. Congrats to Tom and Woody on this one, I'm looking forward to the Halloween Jam looks like it's going to be Awesome! So, check out the site at www.slaughterpen.com and I hear they are working on adding more ramps and 6 miles of trails in Phase 2 so stay tuned to the site and see the progress. The magazine also mentions the Progressive Trail Design Company who built Slaughter Pen (Their first gig and I must say, not too bad!) and I collaborated a bit on that site design so check it out too www.progressivetraildesign.com.

Who Inspires Me?

July 28, 2008 14:03 by joey

This past weekend I came across an interview someone did with the Artist Shepard Fairey. I have followed this guy for as far back as I can remember and he plays a huge roll in inspiring me in both his art and his work habbit. It was interesting to see how he has become not only a world renowned artist but also now has his own line of clothing, does gallery exhibits, and recently has started DJing and mixing cds. Even with all the publicity now, he mentioned he never forgets to go out and do what made him famous, "Bomb with stickers," even when he's with his family. Most people have seen his work and probably most know him as "OBEY". Here is the link to the article and also, here is a link to some of his more famous pieces.

Mother Nature the best artist

July 18, 2008 12:38 by joey
I know if your a designer like me you are always looking for new color inspiration so check this out. This is a cool post I found today that looks at why it's so important for us to save the environment. Look at the beauty of these fish and since it's on colorlovers site they provide color charts for each fish. This will be great on my next site design just pick a fish and the poallet comes with it. Enjoy http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2008/07/17/nudibranchs-the-most-colorful-creatures-in-the-world/

Graffiti and Motion Graphics Cool Combo

June 3, 2008 14:40 by joey
This has to be the best mashup of street art and video work. Congrats to those who put in the time and effort. i could see this style as a movie, just think the boys down in Brazil that do character design could make some badass movies in this style.
